Nestled in Yavakapadi Village, FernHills is a quiet retreat amid the Western Ghats — a private cottage overlooking the Adaandamol mountain ranges, right at the base of Coorg's highest peak.
The Property
FernHills sits quietly in Yavakapadi — a small village in Kakkabe, deep within the coffee and pepper country of Coorg. The Adaandamol ranges are your horizon. Tadiaandamol, the highest peak in Coorg, is practically at your doorstep.
Self-contained with independent access — no shared corridors, no noise from other guests.
Meals are prepared in the traditional Kodava way — pandi curry, koli curry, and akki rotti made fresh for every meal.
Bring your pets — FernHills has the space and the welcome for them. Just let us know when you book.
Evenings here are made for sitting around a fire — watching the sky above the Ghats darken with stars.
Accommodations
A private, self-contained Deluxe Double Room with a dedicated balcony — your own perch overlooking the Western Ghats. Inside, warm terracotta walls, a well-appointed double bed, and windows that frame the green hills beyond.
Dining
Every meal at FernHills is prepared fresh in a clean, home kitchen — traditional Kodava recipes made the way they've always been made, with local ingredients and real care.

What to Do
Kakkabe is not a place you pass through. It's a place you come to stay — and there's enough here to fill every hour.
Coorg's highest peak (1,748m) starts practically at FernHills. The trail takes 4–5 hours round-trip through shola forests and grasslands. Worth every step.
A guided jeep safari into the deeper Ghats — past coffee and cardamom estates, across streams, and into terrain no regular vehicle can reach.
Walking trails along the property's edge follow a seasonal stream through dense vegetation. Birdlife here is exceptional — bring binoculars.
Every evening, a campfire under the open sky. Your hosts will sit with you, share stories, and make sure your glass is never empty.
Indoor games, cooking sessions with Kodava recipes, and guided walks around the property — there's always something to do without leaving the estate.
